Gruting Methodist Chapel is now officially closed after 190 years of Christian witness and worship. Gruting was one of the original places of worship inspired by the founder of Shetland Methodism, John Nicolson, who preached here in the early 1820's, and was born in nearby Quinster. Fittingly his remains lie in Gruting cemetery, with a memorial stone erected in his honour.

Worship continues in Gruting Community Centre and Gruting is part of the Wastside ministry of Rev Dr Andrew Fox. Church Stewards are Mrs Greta Jacobson and Mr Frank Robertson.
Services take place once a month in the Gruting Community Centre, usually on the last Sunday in the month at 3.00 pm.

For full details of who is preaching and for confirmation of service time please see our Preaching Plan by clicking the link to the plan on the home page.
